Terms of Service

Last updated: April 2026

These Terms of Service ("Terms") form a binding agreement between you and the operator of Mevro ("Mevro", "we", "us") and govern your use of the website at mevro.app, its sub-domains, and the associated app, APIs, and services (together, the "Service"). By creating an account, accessing, or using the Service you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

1. Eligibility and accounts

You must be at least 13 years old (or 16 if your country sets a higher age of digital consent under art. 8 GDPR) and legally able to enter into a contract to use the Service. If you use the Service on behalf of an organisation, you warrant that you have authority to bind it to these Terms.

You are responsible for the security of your account, for all activity under it, and for keeping your email address current. Notify us promptly at hello@mevro.app if you suspect unauthorised access. We may suspend or terminate accounts that repeatedly violate these Terms.

2. The Service

Mevro lets you generate short-form explainer videos by choosing characters, backgrounds, captions, and music, optionally generating an AI-written script, synthesising voice-overs, and rendering the final video to an MP4 file. The Service runs on a credits model — rendering consumes credits, which you acquire through a paid plan or receive as part of account provisioning.

3. Credits, plans, and billing

Credits are non-refundable digital items that entitle you to render videos. They have no monetary value outside the Service and cannot be redeemed for cash. The cost of a render is displayed before you confirm it; credits are debited inside a database transaction before the render begins, and are automatically refunded to your balance if a render fails due to our infrastructure.

Paid plans renew automatically at the end of each billing period unless you cancel. You can cancel a subscription at any time from the billing portal accessible in Settings. Payments are processed by Stripe; by subscribing you also accept Stripe's terms. All prices are inclusive of applicable taxes unless otherwise noted. We reserve the right to change prices; material changes take effect at your next renewal after at least 14 days' notice.

EU/UK consumers have a 14-day right of withdrawal under the Consumer Rights Directive (2011/83/EU). By starting your first render within that 14-day window you expressly request immediate performance of the Service and acknowledge that you waive the right of withdrawal to the extent you have consumed credits. Unused credits remain refundable during the 14-day window.

4. Your content

You retain ownership of everything you create with the Service: your scripts, your custom characters, your music uploads, your project settings, and the rendered videos. We do not claim ownership of your content.

For us to run the Service, you grant Mevro a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to host, store, reproduce, adapt, and transmit your content for the limited purpose of operating the Service (e.g. storing your upload on Supabase, passing your script to Claude for AI generation, synthesising audio via Fish Audio, rendering your video on AWS, serving the result back to you or anyone you share it with). This licence ends when you delete the content, except for copies that are necessarily retained for legal compliance or for short windows in backups.

If you subscribe to a plan that includes a commercial-use licence, the rendered videos you download may be used for commercial purposes (ads, monetised social posts, client work). Free-tier renders are for personal, non-commercial use only. Either way, the commercial licence only covers the mevro-generated portion — it does not grant you any rights to third-party IP you may have imported (e.g. copyrighted characters, music clips, likenesses).

5. Rights you must have in your uploads

You warrant that:

  • you own or hold every right necessary to upload and use the content you provide (character images, music tracks, scripts, reference imagery for AI generation);
  • your uploads do not infringe any third party's copyright, trademark, patent, trade secret, publicity rights, or privacy rights;
  • if a recognisable person appears in your uploads, you have their informed consent to include their likeness, voice, or name;
  • your content is not defamatory, deceptive, or otherwise unlawful.

You indemnify and hold harmless Mevro, its operators, employees, and sub-processors against any claim, damages, liability, or cost (including reasonable legal fees) arising from content you upload, share, or generate that breaches the warranties in this section or any other provision of these Terms. This indemnity survives termination of your account.

6. Acceptable use

You must not use the Service to:

  • generate or distribute content that is illegal in the jurisdiction where you live or where the Service is accessed;
  • infringe anyone's copyright, trademark, or other intellectual property — including by uploading copyrighted cartoon, animation, video game, anime, or film characters you do not have a licence to use;
  • impersonate a real person (living or recently deceased) without their verifiable consent, including by using their name, likeness, or voice;
  • create content involving nudity or sexual activity depicting anyone who is or appears to be a minor; any such content will be reported to the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children (NCMEC) and appropriate authorities, and will result in immediate account termination;
  • harass, bully, threaten, or incite violence against an identifiable person or group;
  • generate hate speech, or content that dehumanises people on the basis of race, ethnicity, national origin, religion, disability, gender identity, or sexual orientation;
  • create disinformation designed to deceive (e.g. fake news in a real public figure's voice) — satire is fine when clearly labelled as such;
  • scrape, resell, or redistribute the Service, its preset characters, its background library, its caption styles, its voice outputs, or its rendered videos as a competing offering;
  • probe, scan, or attempt to breach the security of the Service; submit content designed to overload, corrupt, or degrade performance; or bypass rate limits and credit systems;
  • use automated means (bots, scripts) to create accounts or generate renders in a way that abuses Trigger.dev or AWS quotas.

We may remove content that violates these rules and may suspend or terminate repeat or severe violators without refund. We cooperate with law enforcement when legally required.

7. Copyright and DMCA

Mevro respects intellectual property rights and complies with the US Digital Millennium Copyright Act (17 U.S.C. § 512) and Art. 14 of the EU e-Commerce Directive / Art. 6 of the Digital Services Act. If you believe content on the Service infringes your copyright, see our DMCA & Takedown Policy for how to send us a notice.

Repeat infringer policy. We maintain a policy of terminating the accounts of users who are, in appropriate circumstances, repeat infringers. Three substantiated copyright or trademark notices against your account result in permanent termination, without refund of remaining credits.

8. AI-generated content

Scripts generated by our AI Script feature and voice audio generated by our TTS integrations are produced by third-party models (Anthropic Claude, Fish Audio). Outputs may be inaccurate, biased, or incomplete, and you are responsible for reviewing them before publishing. AI outputs are provided "as is" with no warranty of originality or non-infringement beyond what the respective provider offers us.

You must not use AI Script to generate content in the voice or style of a real identifiable person without their consent, nor to produce defamatory statements about real people.

9. Sharing and the gallery

You can share a rendered video by generating a share link. Share links use short-lived signed URLs that point at the private storage bucket — if you delete the project or revoke the share link, the video becomes inaccessible. You may also opt in to the public gallery in Settings, which lists shared videos under the display name on your account. Opting in is fully reversible at any time.

10. Suspension and termination

You can delete your account at any time from Settings > Danger Zone. We can suspend or terminate your access at any time for material breach of these Terms, including repeat infringement or abuse. On termination: your active renders are stopped, your uploaded characters/music and rendered videos are deleted, and any unused credits are forfeited. Billing records are retained as required by tax law.

11. Service availability and warranties

We aim for high availability but provide the Service on an "as is" and "as available" basis. We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or secure from unauthorised access. To the maximum extent permitted by law, we disclaim all implied warranties including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.

12. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Mevro's total aggregate liability for any claim arising out of or related to the Service is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim, or €100, whichever is greater. We are not liable for indirect, incidental, consequential, special, or punitive damages, or for lost profits, lost revenue, lost data, or goodwill. Nothing in this section limits liability that cannot be limited under mandatory consumer-protection law, such as liability for gross negligence, wilful misconduct, death, or personal injury.

13. Governing law and venue

These Terms are governed by the law of Poland, excluding its conflict-of-laws rules. Any dispute will be resolved by the courts of the Republic of Poland with jurisdiction over the operator's place of business. If you are a consumer resident in the EU, you retain the protection of any mandatory consumer-protection rules of your country of residence, and you can also bring proceedings in the courts of your country of residence in accordance with art. 18(1) Regulation (EU) 1215/2012.

The European Commission provides an Online Dispute Resolution platform available at ec.europa.eu/consumers/odr.

14. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. The "Last updated" date above reflects the most recent change. We will notify you by email or in-app of material changes at least 14 days before they take effect. Continued use of the Service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the new Terms.
